INSIDE OUR KITCHEN
Our Coffee is slow brewed like "grandma" made it on the farm. We are proud to say that we only use a selection of African beans.
We bake a selection of fresh breads daily, from croissants to gluten free. Order daily to avoid dissapointment
Our aim is to stay true to the South African saying "Local is Lekker". We go out of our way to support local small farmers and shops to get the best of the best locally and in season.

Our Chefs
Founder Toitnette Du Toit started Rooi Kombuis six years ago from the back of her 1983 Ford Cortina bakkie. She believes in South African cuisine and hopes that it stays present in all young South African homes. She takes the traditional and makes it current with her special twists. She loves everything about food, from growing your own to molecular gastronomy. She has travelled extensively and worked as a chef in the Middle East as well as Great Britain. She explores all food platforms and you can be sure to find interesting suprises mixed into her love for South African cooking.

Catherine Eybers joined Rooi Kombuis in 2014 and this small venture exploded into a dream team kitchen. Catherine worked as a Brand Manager for the better part of her corporate career, until her paths crossed with the brilliant Chef Francois Ferreira. She soon realised that she needs to get into a kitchen. While marketing well known South African brands she burned the midnight oil and studied as a chef and walked out with distinction from Francois Ferreira Academy. She followed this with recipe development for among others books like 7'de Laan Celebrates. She also has a love for Spanish food and you can be sure to find some Spanish happiness on our menu.
